Requests and Claims

Righty-o, then! Here's the ubiquitous claims post. Feel free to offer your most cherished fantasies for Merlin's future! Where would you like the show to go? What would you like to see happen next? And what do you think might happen in the distant future, with all your favorite characters, long after the five seasons of the show are done? Anything and everything you can possibly imagine for the show's future has a definite chance of being written, drawn or vidded here. Get loose! Get freaky. Uh huh. Uh huh.

The following rules might help you better adhere to the threadbare requirements of this humble fest. Please follow these rules, and spare me the trouble of spitting fire futilely in my underground cave while you hand my special magic sword over to someone else! Even if it is Uther Pendragon. Yes, that's right. I'm looking at you, young warlocks. Have a care.

Request #7
Merlin came across a group of wizards/witches who use people's lives to power their magic. They purposefully set camp near borders and other places with high mortality rates.

What goal does the group have? How does Merlin react?

Bonus points if Arthur gets entangled in the whole mess.

Request #8
Arthur is blinded when he was trying to save Merlin's life.

Merlin, feeling guilty, trades his sight for Arthur's.

Arthur is miraculously "healed," while Merlin uses magic to hide his blindness from others.

How does Arthur find out? How does he react?

Request #9
Arthur secretly likes to collect stones/feathers/mementos.

Merlin/Morgana finds out. Much mocking ensues.

Request #10
Merlin finds out that the Camelot castle is alive.

Uther of course thinks there was an evil spirit haunting the castle.

Arthur secretly harbors hope that it is his late mother.

Merlin, Arthur, Morgana, and Gwen as a very co-dependent and tight-knight foursome (can be sexual or not, your choice). When Morgana leaves Camelot/becomes evil/whatever you want to do with that part of the legend, the other three are left incomplete and at loose ends. Enter Lancelot. Does he slot neatly into Morgana's space? Create a totally new dynamic? Pull everything to pieces?

Ghost Story #1
Remember how the undead knight, Tristan, came back in S1E09? Well, this time, it's Igraine who returns, except that she doesn't look undead at all; she looks fresh and in the full bloom of her youth, just as she had before she had died. Understandably, Camelot is thrown into chaos - is this really Igraine, resurrected? Is it a sorceress in disguise, with nefarious plans to destroy the kingdom? Or is this a God-given miracle, to have their beloved queen returned to them at last? Some people even begin wondering if she'd even died in the first place, or if her death had merely been a very long sleep...

The entry should focus on Uther's response to this new Igraine. On the one hand, she's probably a magical creature (even if she really is Igraine resurrected, she's still an unnatural thing!) and Uther has made it state policy to immediately get rid of magical beings. But can he bring himself to kill one who wears the face of his beloved wife - or one who may even be his wife? If he doesn't destroy her, he will negate years of his anti-magic policies, and will risk inciting a rebellion as a result of double standards. (Relatives of magic users may revolt, demanding why it's all right for royal people to use magic, but not for them.) But if Uther does destroy her... Well, the thought is almost unbearable.

What about Arthur? How does Arthur react to Igraine's return? Remember that the story/art/vid is through Uther's point of view, but there'll be bonus points for conveying how Arthur's reaction to Igraine makes it more difficult for Uther to destroy her. Does he have the right to rob his son of a mother, yet again? What does Uther finally do? What are the consequences of his actions? And who the heck is this Igraine-person, anyway?

Deal with this plot-bunny as you wish! And feel free to change anything I've requested; the main thing I'm interested in is Igraine's apparent return.

Ghost Story #2
Supernatural/Merlin crossover!

In the future, Sam and Dean discover this haunted crypt/castle/cave in Britain where the flagrantly gay, obviously devoted and perpetually snarking ghosts of Arthur and Merlin live. (Or, um, the opposite of live. Haunt.) Unfortunately, there's also a more sinister ghost hanging around in Britain that is determined to possess a living human body and wreak havoc on the world once more - that's right, it's Nimueh's ghost. And this is when things get interesting.

Nimueh's evil ghost possesses Sam or Dean (pick one!), and it doesn't take long for the other brother to realize that something ain't right - because while Nimueh is very clever, she's also, um. Very seductive. It's up to you whether Sam and Dean already have a sexual relationship before this, but bonus points if they don't, and if the non-possessed brother is absolutely stumped by how attractive his sibling has suddenly become - and also if the possessed sibling is conscious of his body behaving seductively and of his brother's reaction to it, and kind of likes what's happening. Er. If you like, you can make it so that Nimueh can only possess her chosen target part-time, so you can have genuine Sam/Dean interaction in-between the possessions, or you could just keep it as a full-time thing. It's up to you!

Basically: Sam/Dean slash, with Nimueh the temptress playing on the other brother's weaknesses! Some very kinky weaknesses, hopefully, but even simple ones are okay (like, Sam has a real weakness for pretty mouths, and Nimueh!Dean eats ice-cream seductively in a very, very titillating way). But of course, no matter how delicious Nimueh!Dean or Nimueh!Sam is, the other sibling doesn't want anything but the original. How to get rid of Nimueh without doing harm to the carrier? This ain't a normal ghost; she's a powerful witch.

So, finally, the remaining brother has to work with Arthur and Merlin (with either or both of them possessing him by turns) to expel Nimueh from this world. Apparently, there's some kind of curse/prophecy/spell that demands that Nimueh can only be defeated by Arthur or Merlin. Bonus points for resulting Sam/Dean smut. (The brother that was possessed by Nimueh remembers everything, and... yeah, it changes things.) You can even take things a step further by having Sam and Dean show their gratitude to Merlin and Arthur by allowing them to possess their bodies, thereby leading to Merlin/Arthur smut that is ALSO Sam/Dean smut. SEXY OVERLOAD, ALDKFJDKLFLK!

NOTE: Seriously, you don't have to stick to absolutely every demand I make in this prompt; as long as it's a slashy Supernatural/Merlin crossover in the future featuring Sam/Dean and Merlin/Arthur or any permutation thereof, I'm happy. You can change pretty much everything else; the plot I've supplied here is just a suggestion. :)

Re: Ghost Story #2

What, normality? Leaving so soon?

SPN/Merlin crossover? I have been planning such a thing - in a, er, totally different guise ^_^ - for ages.

In other news, second future!fic is being beta'd ready for posting, so I'm slowly chipping away at my ENORMOUS list. ^_^

Epic love for this prompt. EPIC.

OH MY GOSH! You're actually taking the prompt that I thought nobody would ever, EVER take! :O :O :O Clearly, I must bear you tons of Winchester-lookalike babies. :D :D :D

Darling, you're just fabulous for claiming so many prompts and then working so assiduously on them! I'm terribly behind on mine! *bows and tips her hat to you* <3

Ghost Story #3
Uther's been killing lots of magic users over the years, hasn't he? Well, what if these magic users stuck around as ghosts, because they were obviously killed unjustly and couldn't rest in peace? I want you to write/draw/vid about a GHOST REBELLION - that is to say, all the spirits of Uther's victims returning to seek vengeance or simply to overturn things. Bonus points for some sort of really hot leading ghost. (I'm sorry, I have a ghost fetish...)

How does Camelot repel these ghosts? Are they banished/destroyed, or does someone find a way to put them to rest in a peaceful way? Merlin is instrumental in defeating them, in any case. I'd also like it if someone (preferably Merlin or Gaius) got possessed at some point, and if Morgana turned out to be able to communicate with the ghosts as well, and if the really hot ghost becomes a (temporary?) love interest for one of the characters (again, preferably Merlin, much to Arthur's dismay).

I don't much care how this storyline is resolved; do whatever you like! I'm not specifying how Uther reacts, so that's up to you. You can leave out anything shippy if you just want a gen fic about Uther and guilt, or you can make this a comedic ghostly romp featuring possessed!sex. Do anything you like with this plot-bunny! THE POWER IS YOURS!

Arthur deposes King Uther
Arthur/Merlin, please! Or general Arthur and Merlin friendship/pre-slash.

I would like to see a story in which Arthur ousts his father from power. In my mind I see this as the result of Uther's tyrannical persecution of magic spiraling out of control to the point that no one is safe and Arthur is forced to step in and declare his father unfit to rule (perhaps he's gone a bit mad?), but I'll accept any reason. Seeing Arthur seize power, at least in part, to protect Merlin would be a plus.

I want Arthur determined, but a little tormented. And I want Merlin in a supportive position.

Pretty please?

1. So, Hunith was recovering at the end of season 1. What if she decided to stay in Camelot and moved in with Gwen (or not)? I'd love to see an episode-style story which is all about mothers - there's so many missing mothers in Merlin - Gwen's, Morgana's, Arthur's...

2. One of the characters becomes a costumed hero fighting poverty or crime (or magic?) in Camelot. (Maybe omething like this episode of Robin Hood.)

3. The consequences of Nimueh's death (and on Merlin who killed her.)
